Anyone want to help save this old blackhawk jack? I finaly got the main arm shaft out. Took way too much abuse to free her, but I wanted to have this jack rebuilt properly. It was rusted in and heat, shop-press, one destroyed Snap-on 48oz dead blow and one destroyed finger that needed a trip to to ER later it finally came out. The threads that hold holt it tight to the jack body are destroyed to say the least. Unfortunately I sold my lathe last year (wish I had not), but hoping someone here can re-cut the threads for me on the ends. Only have to cut them from the ends to about .33" before the shaft gets thicker. I actualy have a 1" die to cut it, but I think this is better left to someone with a lathe. I can build up a little bit of material with the mig, or perhaps best to just cut it one size smaller since I need new nuts anyhow. Anyone have any tips, or want to take on this simple job. The one machine shop here is insane and a bunch of jack-azzes. Hball can get all the parts if it needs rebuild, so this is the only thing keeping it from being ready to work again.
anyone got tips or a lathe and some sympathy.
