I am looking to build a new bench in my garage. This will be a bench that I have for the long haul. I envision the base being Lista quality cabinets. I would like to have some set up as traditional tool drawers, some as small parts storage and others as bulk storage. In a perfect world, I will also have overhead cabinets and a tall wall locker type cabinet at the end of the bench.
However, I some serious space constraints. The base can't stick out any farther that 20” from the wall I am going to set it against. 18” would be ideal, that would allow for a 2” overhang on the top.
I know the shallow depth will dramatically limit both my choices of cabinets as well as storage capacity. The necessity for the shallow cabinets rests in the fact that due to living in a beach community with extremely limited parking, I must be able to fit both of my cars in the garage.
I have browsed through the Lista catalog and the shallow cabinets are 22 1/2” deep.
That brings me to my question; “What options do I have for high quality metal cabinets that are 18 to 20” deep?”.
