After screwing around with several different options, I've made the decision to go with a 722 topped with a 791. It seems to be the best use of space in a smallish garage. I'm no pro - just some schmuck who likes playing in his garage.

Does anyone have this setup and really love it? Or wish they went with something else?

Sorry that I took a picture of it all dirty. But I have that setup and love it. It works perfect for me has plenty of room. I have a Matco heavy duty service cart for my basic set of tools. But all my specialty stuff is in here and it works perfect. I've still got plenty of empty drawers. For the price used you really can't beat one of these boxes in my opinion. I bought mine off of a Snap on truck for $4500 in like new condition and it was only a year old.

I have a 722/791 combo and I love it. I'm limited on space, so the deeper boxes aren't really a good option. I'm out of space, which is a downside, but I've been making an effort to lean out the spares and tighten up the density of my organization solutions.

Here are the most recent drawer pictures. I have added LOTS of stuff since then, I need to update.

Interesting.....a $20,000 Snap on box next to a $99 Harbor Freight box. Which one is the better value?

There's no $20,000 box in that picture, but that's besides the point.

The value is all up to the person that uses it everyday. Personally for me. I use mine all day everyday. Opening and closing drawers. Heavy tools in it. A harbor freight box will not hold up to that everyday for 20+years. Which is what most of us that have the more expensive boxes plan to keep them for.

For a home garage or something. Where it's not going to make me any money. Sure I'll buy a cheap box and load it with cheaper tools.

But anyway. The OP was asking for opinions from the people that own them on how they like them. And like I said before. It's a great box for honestly a great price, it's big enough for most. But still fits in lots of areas where a deeper box won't. It's also a solid built box. Drawers open and close quiet, no wiggle or clunk and holds quite a bit of weight while still being fairly easy to move.

Hi red,
I have a kra2422, which is the same set up as the kl722, but not as heavy duty. I have it under my work bench and love the set up. You won't go wrong with what your looking it.

I had a krl7022 with a krl1201 top box which is very similar at 54" wide and 30 deep. Had being the key word. When I added the top box I lost my bench space and it drove me nuts. I kept that set up for a year and just replaced it with a krl1032. I lost a little bit of tool storage volume but the drawer layout works better for me and the bench space is nice to have back. IMO wider and deeper beats taller. For a similar price to the 722/791 you could get a krl1023 and have nearly the same tool storage space

Not trying to hijack the thread but my Snappy guy just offered me a KRL722 new in crate for $4,000 in black. I'm so tempted. Seems like a pretty good deal. What are your thoughts on the price?

I don't know your market but I wouldn't do that. I would rather get a used 1022 for $3-4K. A 722 is too small for $4K cash.

Yeah. You can get a used 722 in like new shape for around $2k I paid $4500 for my 722/791 combo. Less than a year old. With all of the stainless trim for the drawers. Also never saw a dirty tool until I got it. It was used in an apartment. An older gentleman used it for RC cars. So it was pretty much new. Had a scratch on one of the drawers and that was it.
