Do you fellas sharpen them or just buy a new one? At $10-$15 for a new one, it almost doesn't make it worth it to sharpen a handsaw. It is a shame to throw something out that can be serviced. What do you guys do?

If you're talking about a new handsaw with hardened teeth, they can't be sharpened anyway and are meant to be tossed after they are dull.

The older handsaws were meant to be sharpened and can easily be touched up with the right size file if not too badly damaged. Rip teeth are easier to sharpen than cross cut teeth. After a couple sharpenings you'll have to joint and set the teeth also.

Ah, I had no idea that hardened teeth couldn't be sharpened. That clears things up a lot.

Thanks.
