Have anyone of you tried Sharpie Retractable Markers yet?

I'm liking, but not loving them. I find that they're a bit too long to comfortable place in a pocket.

I've also been using the new Sharpie pens, and those are pretty good too.

Yup, I'm an office supply junky.

The pens are made in Japan, and the markers are "assembled in China."

I would guess it depends on how frequently you write with one and for how long. The way I use a marker is so infrequent the old style cap works fine for me. I pop the cap, write whatever I need and get the cap back on asap. Hard to believe a retractable is going to seal as well as a cap.

The retractable mechanism is pretty nifty. There's what looks to be a shutter that opens up when the mechanism is retracted. It also looks like there's another anti-dryout mechanism further inwards from the shutter/hatch.

They're ok. I am a Sharpie rep, but haven't sold a single order of the RT yet. Now the minis....I move a ton of those. Honestly, it's probably a better pocket pen than the RT. You'll also notice something with the RT-you'll end up with ink on the outside of the tip. Not good if you pop it in your pocket.

We are using quite a few of them on the production floor where I work. The guys on the floor like them a lot. They are concerned with dropping a top in a blender.

I'm not a big fan becuase it seems that the top is always getting pushed and letting the marker dry out when I use them.

I've used them and I think the tip caves in more than the others. I've been using the sharpie "professional" or "industrial" I think they call it. That's my favorite.

We do a lot of marking on steel, cast iron, wooden crates. Sometimes on plastic wrap. Or just to write quick notes.

We've got thicker sharpers for large writing. And some of those old school steel ink pens that you refill with fluid.
