I've been having problems with my 18v brushless drill. It's not doing anything when I pull the trigger. I don't think it's the battery cause when I replace it with a full one it works fine but does it again the next time I use it. I went and just took it out and put it back in again and it worked fine so I'm not sure if it's just old and worn out or what. Does anyone know anything about these?

Thanks,
Shaun Barratt

EDIT: The drill is a Bosch DDS182

Do you store it with the battery on it? try only putting a battery on when its in use. It's probably circuitry in the tool, battery, or both to prevent overload. It thinks something is too hot or working too hard.

I've had good experience with Bosch warranty repairs. Ultimately that is the best thing to do with it. But in the short term try what I said and see if that buys you some time before you can do without it.

Wait, what's your name again?

I have a Bosch 18v hammer drill & 1/2" impact, going on 2 years (but neither are brushless). Never had a problem but Cheech has some good advice above

I have the same problem sometimes with my Bosch PS41 (12v brushed impact). Sometimes when I pull the trigger, nothing happens. Pull it a few times and usually it'll go. I bought a PS42 (brushless) to replace it and since then it has behaved. The PS41 worked well for five or six years, I figured the controller switch was getting worn out or a connection came loose somewhere in there, but I haven't opened it up to see since it's been working.

So basically my best advice is to threaten your drill, that'll probably bring it back in line. Maybe a little good cop bad cop.
