So I'm getting started on a 12x28 shed that will serve as tool and atv storage during a house renovation. I will be building on skids as the shed will move after the renovation to either another house or a different location on this property. My plan is to build up and tamp area with 3/4" minus road base and then add 4-6" of crushed recycled asphalt over that and roll with vibrating dual drum roller. I've used this method for driveways but never to build on. Opinions?
Next I plan on placing 4x4 pt skids 28" apart directly on the asphalt millings with 2x4 floor joists over top @12" oc with a double layer of 3/4" tongue and groove. My main concern is my harbor freight 72" roller loaded with tools. Again opinions? I am worried about the amount on concentrated weight with the box. Should I be? Thanks guys and gals.
