Shed Door Ideas

I have built a 12x 16 pole shed. Gable roof (12x10), gravel floor. This is only for to empty all the **** out of my attached two car garage and make it a nice space.

My issue: I cannot decide on a door.
My thoughts: I do not want a standard two door on front. I want something that allows maximum opening capacity on the front.
My ideas: I have two ideas in mind:
1) two pairs of 6' wide barn doors. These would be mounted so as to allow each door to slide over and open up an entire half of the shed. The track and rollers are a bit expensive though.

2) one big damn door that swings up. It would need counterweighting and/or gas struts. This would also provide an 8 ft shaded area when up.

I just cannot decide and the project is languishing waiting on me to decide.

How bout it, any suggestions either way, or any other ideas? I'll attach a picture when I can find one...

Re: Sheed Door Ideas

For the price of some of the barn door hardware, you might be able to get a cheap roll up style garage door. I would be afraid to do a swing up door - if it gets windy, it could rip the door right off.

I like the idea of the big swing up door, and the resulting shade. I don't think the wind would be an issue as long as you close it when you are done. And it don't get too windy in south Georgia. I think I saw a big swing up on this site a while back, but can't find the thread now.

A metal roll up would be nice, and secure. Might get a used one from an overhead door pace, otherwise I think it might be too expensive?

Menard's (similar to a home depot here in the midwest) had roll ups advertised for less than $200 last weekend.
