recently used a harmonic balancer holder from Schley Products 64300 on a Toyota 2JZ engine when I had to remove the crank bolt. The tool comes with 8x1.25 bolts grade 10.9, about 4 inches long. The 2 bolts hold the tool tight against the balancer and are torqued to 10-15 lbs ft. and of course, the tool itself is held fixed against the ground or whatever with a breaker bar, thus keeping the balancer steady while you go at the crank bolt. All of the sheer stress goes against those 2 smallish grade 10.9 bolts. I was wondering if an upgrade to 12.9 would be a good idea? Toyota cranks aren't usually on that tight but it would be an easy upgrade, if worthwhile?
