Hows things guys,So while at work standing there with not much to do me and my fellow co-worker got to talking about metal fab ,sheetmetal bending etc so i decided to google it and found tons of pictures on the subject i decided to try and build one on the cheap

so far

length 672mm, 3mm angle iron. -salvaged from my nans house [rip nan]
2X 70mm door hinges-$1.70 each
3/16ths nuts & bolts ,pack-$3.30
25mm*25mm rhs -already had laying round

Its still not finished yet i ran in to a small snag with the hinge set up

Very cool. I've done one of those and it worked really well. The hinge position and line up is absolutely critical. Put the hinge right in the center of the axis if you're trying to get tight bends. Looking forward to seeing your project - please keep us posted.

Update, so iv changed my idea only slightley ,for the better.The hinges will mount into the 25*25 rhs then a shorter piece of the angle iron will mount inbetween that holding down the material .There will also be multiply holes or a large groove in which the back fence can slide back and fowrd to suit the material .Hope this all made sense?

I made one about 18 months ago, it never made sharp corners. While it's great to make one, I have considered just buying and being done with it.

Im missing something..

If thats the finished product, how are you going to hold the work in place?

Also interested to see how those hinges hold up.

nah its not finished yet still got to fab up a better handel and a piece to hold down the material
