Hi I have just finished making a sheet metal bender, and thought I would share some photos. I got the plans from a friend at work who in turn found the plans online on a wood working forum.

Awesome. I'd love the plans as well. I can also CNC plasma out the brackets if anyone's interested since I would probably draw them for myself anyway.

Aye. Nice piece but that might be a pain. The materials would probably have to be adjusted seeing that everything is metric.
Also noticed that brake is only about 2ft wide, which wouldn't do much for me. I think if I was going through the hassle, I'd need a 48". The Enco one can be had for less than $500 on sale.

I am a member of that woodworkforum which has a offshoot metalforum where the original plans were posted (several years ago).
The intent of the 24"(600mm) wide bender was to serve as a home diy workshop bender that fits across the end of a bench.
It can be scaled up but remember the metal thickness across the span increases almost exponentially as it width increases.
As a camlock segmented finger bender it fantastic for bending small sheet metal thicknesses such as boxes and small cabinet drawers.
sixty thou sheet thickness across 24" is pretty much its limit

Add me to the list if anyone makes a "kit for these (depending on price). I have been wanting a brake but have been putting off making one and haven't been happy with the prices I have seen for buying one (yeah, I'm cheap).

Check craigslist religiously. Luckily, I picked up my 4' Tennsmith box and pan brake from an ex employer who closed up shop. 600 bucks!

Hmmm....only 2mm steel? That thing looks like it could certainly handle more than that....but I guess that's at full width.

i have a DiAcro 24" box and pan, DiAcro 24" press brake and they are built like tanks
my 52" 14ga Dies & Krump leaf brake isn't exactly flyweight

How would you go about calculating how thick the span needs to be to bend thicker materials? Say 36” of 14 guauge?
