Starting to design a sheet metal cart for storing 4x8 sheets of 20 gauge to 1/4” and trying to figure out how wide it needs to be to avoid tipping over. I’d like to go as narrow as I can that is safe.

Thinking about using conveyor ball bearings and allowing one side bar to drop like a ramp to help with getting the sheet to the cnc plasma table. If anyone has any experience with doing this, please share.

Build it like a flat drywall cart. Probably get away with 4 x3 footprint

I agree with Fordkid88 . A drywall cart is great for moving metal. We use one daily in our warehouses along with a couple of other variety of carts.

I want one that stands the sheets up vertically and drops down between the wheels.
