Watched a bunch of YouTube tutorials and decided I wanted to try this project with a banjo, and liked the plastic body one with quick change wheels for flats and corners. Found it on FleeBay for $50

Then decided that I'd get a Roto-zippy type tool... Kind of a one trick pony, but I have about 20 boxes to cut out and measuring and pre-cutting is really slow.

Truth be told, just using this as an excuse to round out my DeWalt cordless collection. Found this one on FleeBay brandy new in an opened box for $75

I've used the plastic tub in the past, but want to get a Hawk for the mud this time around.... and I think I'll break down and buy a paddle mixer too.

Still going to save a ton over the price of jobbing it out and what the heck, I might as well have some fun playing with new tools while I'm at it.

I've been using a d handle harbor freight drill as a mixer for several tile and drywall projects now and it's been a champ. Something like 35 bucks.

An oscillating multi tool is very useful for adjusting box cutouts as well.

Make sure you have a drywall screw gun too

Just a word of caution, I used EasySand 90 over the summer on a Sunday and didn't get back to sand it until the next Saturday and let me tell ya there was nothing easysand about it...
A day or 2 no problem but a closed up garage for a week in the middle of the summer, haha forget about it.
Thinking back I probably could have used a spray bottle to soften it up a bit.

A Bazooka would be awesome.... but Bazooka = $$$$

Rent = lost flexibility and can't pick away at the job one section at a time on Saturdays.

"for a garage I think a fella can do a 3 coat job with virtually no sanding. just tape it, scrape it, smooth it, scrape it, smooth again.... Its a garage for crisss sake....."

Agree, the secret to taping is to carefully remove excess mud. If you cut corners by not being diligent removing excess between coats you will spent 2-3x the amount of time needed to sand. I often use a 12-18" trowel for fine work, occasionally a 4' level for buildup.
