Sheetrock interior walls

I'm going to sheetrock my garage interior walls and ceiling. I have 4x12 sheets for the walls and 4x8 sheets for the ceiling. What I'm asking is what's the best way to layout the ceiling?

Hope this catches ya before ya start.
Take the 8' back and get 12' or 16' and rent a sheetrock jack. Seams aren't bad to tape and mud but, but joints ****!

I would also recommend going with 5/8" fire code. Cost more, but is worth it in the overall picture.
Don't assume that the corners are square, so start back on the second rafter, and work toward the ends. Same on the walls. The wall sheet rock holds up the edges of the ceiling sheet rock. Also check to make sure that the proper studding is in the corners to nail to.

Another suggestion, instead of drywall, use OSB. If you ever need to hang something up, you don't have to hit a stud or use an anchor. Just nail/screw it to the OSB. It can be painted just like the drywall as well if you want it too look nice.

I used OSB on my pump house walls and it took years for the glue smell to dissipate. I ended up painting the walls but due to the nature of the OSB it came out with a very porous finish. Also, don't forget to at least use drywall screws in the ceiling. Of course, I live in kalifornia and things can get a little shaky.

In that case, ya might want to look around this site a little. There are several threads where the owner used painted tin for the ceiling, damn good fire break, reflects the light good and basically, screw it up and go...ya might have to trim out where the ceiling meats the walls but if it is square and ya get the rock on the wall tight enough, ya might not have to.

Also, depending on what ya plan on doing in there, ya might give some thought to a metal waynscoating on the walls (grinding, welding etc...).

Put a long straight edge across the trusses (perpendicular) to be sure the bottom of the trusses are level to each other. Add shims if needed.
