Shelf on metal stud walls

My garage has metal studs for the wall since the main wall is cinder block. I've been looking to put a heavy shelf along the top of the wall in a corner to put my camaro's interior/parts/knick knacks on this shelf to get it all off the floor until I'm ready to reinstall all of these parts. Before I go off and cut the drywall and metal studs to get to the cinder block wall to attach the shelf to, I was wondering if there was some other options that can give me a floating shelf that's heavy duty enough to hold this stuff.

Rehash, I don't want any legs on the floor, was going to put 45* braces on the underside of the shelf to add support.

If you use "toggler" anchors and align them to the stud, that should do the job for you.

Whats the weight you want to hold? You could fasten a ledger board or piece of plywood and screw to that.

^ That's the standard method I've seen used commercially for installing heavy things (such as large TV's or large electrical panels) on metal stud walls.

I mounted a 150lb TV back in the day to a metal stud wall (2 studs) using 4 togglers. It was rock solid.

Hmm, maybe they are stronger then I am lead to suspect.

My goal was to build 2x4 framed shelf with 1/2" plywood top, this way I can put my camaro seats/interior/windows/etc stuff on it. But the more I look at it and the more I look at my inventory of stuff, I might be better off to get a pallet rack setup since unfortunately I will have some stuff on the floor due to weight( transmissions, heads, blocks) so might as well utilize all of the space in that corner for storage.

But I will use the toggler anchors for other ideas as I was going to pick up a free tube tv to put in the garage for BS time and white noise.
