Shelves into an empty metal cabinet

Hi,

I've seen so many brilliant ideas on this site that I just have to roll the following issue around to get an ideal solution.
I bought an empty metal cabinet that used to house propane tanks.

I'm planning to install shelves but don't like the idea of drilling any holes. Welding would be totally OK.

All suggestions are very welcome!

A lot depends upon whether you want adjustability or not and how much weight you want the shelves to support. Though it would require more fab time, I could see 1" square tubes in each corner, predrilled for support pegs and shelves notched around those uprights.

Trying to make a neat job of welding to the thin material of the cabinet may

be a bit of a challenge. I would go with Jeff's idea. ^^^^

I have a 2 door gray millitary locker similar to yours, and I used 2x3's for supports

and plywood for shelves. A few holes and some wood screws have held the 2x3's

exactly where they should be for the last 30 some years.

If you buy the pre-drilled shelf vertical sides at Home Depot or Lowes, and cut it to a width that just fits along inside each side of the cabinet, then you can slip them in there, and the shelves resting on the adjustable pegs will hold the sides in place against the cabinet.

Thanks for the ideas guys. Vertical sides was my thought also because they're adjustable and take the most weight under these circumstances.
