Does anybody have any Ideas shelving suggestions for metal building that has insulation. I am thinking about building pallet shelving in one corner. 8ft on end wall and 20 ft on side wall. Pallet shelving will be 12 ft tall by 2 ft wide. Also considering building shelving in between the 2 metal girds on the sidewalls. Any ideas suggestions are appreciated.

Costco has pallet rack rated for 2000 pounds per shelf, roughly 6 foot by 6 foot by 2 feet, four shelves, for less than $200. They have wire decks; if you want to put smaller things on them, put thin plywood over the wire deck. It is the best deal that I have found. Most other shelving is rated for less than 1000 pounds per shelf, assuming uniform loading. But in most cases, the load will not be uniform. I am about to buy two of these units for my new shop.

It is not hard to mount shelving to wood walls, but in a metal building, that is a different matter. For one thing, the columns are much further apart than 16 inches or 24 inches. Better to have free standing shelving. Also, free standing commercial shelving can be moved easily, or even sold, if desired.
