I've had a few of the galvanized wall brackets and cable brackets for years as a wood rack, so I decided to remove everything from that wall and fill the wall floor to cieling with them as shelves.

I bought what I needed from Comstar, prices are pretty good considering how HD they are. I'm going to end up with about 16' from floor to about the 10' mark, and another 16' from floor to my loft, approx. 8'.

and a pic of what I've done sofar:

Thanx, it's been a mess for a couple of years so I'm doing my best to try and get it useable again. I need to restore my '65 F-100 it's been down for about 4 years now and I miss her.

Man, that's some serious heavy duty shelf rack that I had never seen before. Now I know what to use if I decide to install open shelving.

I'd be inclined to make some kind of cabinets for the tools. I'd don't store anything out in the open because when I make a mess everything would get filthy.

Looks nice though. You have a lot of storage space to work with.

More and more I am thinking the same way. I do quite a bit of woodworking and I sometimes create quite a bit of dust. Right now I have shelving which works OK, but the thing is, cabinets would protect my tools from getting all dusty.

I know what you mean about the saw dust, most of the year I do my cutting facing the open garage door, when it's cold I use the shop vac, I've been seriously thinking about a dust collection system for awhile now, but it never seems to get to the top of the priority list. One good thing about the saw dust, it keeps the floor clean. :)

Got back to the shelving today, moved the metal bench and finished off the shelving on that wall.

and I hung my chains on my lift post support bracket to get them out of the way.

Oh and I'm not sure I showed you guys my movable lift post, hung it on a trolley on the I-beam. Gets it right out of the way when not in use.

Hopefully I can finish the other wall tomorrow, have to knock a master bedroom paint job off the Honey-do list first.:D

Looks nice, if you can't find your cell phone just ask I know where it is.
