What is the best way to handle this situation?
I have a roof line that is shown in the attached picture.
When starting shingles at the lower edge of the roof and going up the rake what does the detail look like where it says “what happens here” as the spacing does not allow for all the rows to align with the roof edge and the overlap be the same.
Is the correct thing to start the row of shingles at the upper area, and align the edge with the edge of the eve and let them overlap on the lower row of shingles which will be more than the minimum overlap?
Do you trim the tabs of the shingles at this location and keep all the laps the same?
