Shingle hammer/hatchet?

You could take it out for drinks and a movie but you might get the cold shoulder...Then again you would save a ton of money because I am sure it would only need a glass of oil as compared to a glass of beer.
I'm really not in the mood for putting up with a smart adds right now I was tired and could have chose better words okay. Can anyone point me in the right direction of where to research plumb makers marks and when this one was used? There are no date code or any other markings.

That logo, [PLUMB], without any other markings, was Fayette Plumb's first logo, used from 1917 well into the 1980’s. In the 1940's it is sometimes accompanied on all their striking tools (axe, hammers, etc) by a crude "U.S." stamp, made with a different die, and not aligned with the logo. These are usually martial marks, made by the military or other agencies of the US Government, not Plumb. Others will have a uniform "U.S." and a year (usually wartime). Those appear to be factory markings for military contracts. Later (into the 50's etc) you will see the same [PLUMB] logo over a "U.S.A." COO marking and the two are very uniform (aligned). Then all kinds of variations start showing up. I believe your shingle hatchet is pre-war.

You just have to know how to read the date codes...
The first was made on Jan. 7th, 1946 at 10:10 Am by union maker Don Vito Corleone, I am sure he loved unions.
The second was made by his no good son Frederico Corleon on Feb. 16th,1951 at 9:30 am.
The 3rd one was made by Sandra Coreone on Mar. 17th,1958 at 11:30 am.
The 4th was made on April the 10th, 1961 at 2:45 pm by Johnny Fontane.
The 5th was made on May 11th, at 6:40 , 1966 by Luca Brasi ( Tough nut to crack).
The 6th was made on June 19th, at 3:51, 1970 by Don Emilio Barzini.
The 7th and last on was made on July 15th at 4:10 by worker Carlo Rizzi.
See you just have to read the date codes.
