To add....this is what I've found...the more support you have the better you'll feel after work.

Not at first though...at first you'll think my god these things are too tough...
But trust me...your back will thank you.

Running is a different activity and range of motion. Your foot is stompimg down...arms and legs moving etc...
Working sometimes it's standing on concrete for 10 hours. Sure you move around but not like running.

You need solid support

Crocs actually makes decent looking sneakers. They're extremely comfortable and easy on my plantar fasciitis. I hate to admit Crocs are a favorite of mine, but they're so comfort that I don't care

I tell you the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever owned are the Nike Air Torch 4. And they last forever too. They are hard to come by now. I went to buy a pair the other day and everyone was out of them and couldn’t order my size. I am going to order some online as much as I hate too but I know the size I need and exactly how they fit so I feel comfortable doing so. In the meantime I got some more New Balance since I always have two pairs of shoes. At work steel toes are required so I wear Justin boots can’t remember the style name but they are pretty comfortable. Don’t make my feet hurt or anything so that’s good.

Best boot/shoe I have found so far

I’ve had plenty of USA made Keens, these are not, but they are by far better than any boot I have worn so far. They feel like walking on baby kittens all day. Very light and so far very durable and holding up to oil, coolant, gas and other types of chemicals. Non slip sole and a composite toe. I can walk on a coolant and oil covered floor with zero slipping. I highly recommend giving them a try.

Wow. I read that and still laughing 10 minutes later.
Getting a "Godzilla Goes to the Pet Store" kind of mental picture.

When I left the service I had a job as a manager in a large manufacturing plant. I spent my days waking around concrete floors in a large production plant. I had bought some expensive soft insole dress shoes (Florsheim?) and my feet were still sore all the time. When I started wearing plain leather loafers with the old fashioned leather sole the pain went away. Sort of counter-intuitive but it worked.

Found this site from a google search. Needing to replace some work boots and the place I've bought them from in the past stopped carrying them. Turns out the company went out of business. They're more of a orthopedic boot made by PW Minor. The model is Hercules. They are extra depth to fit a thick orthotic in. I changed the original sole to more a hiking boot sole but looking to find something more like the original for standing on concrete all day. But they need to be extra depth for my orthotics - bad feet gimpy leg. Anybody know of something similar?

Have a set of Reebok Sublite Cushion EH steel toes and they are great when I’m walking around manufacturing factory floor. Walks like a “normal” sneakier, lightweight, breathable and steel toe so it meets safety requirement.

Back in my Working Days, my podiatrist complimented me on my Red Wing Shoes, the custom inserts he fitted me with lasted for 5 years. Being hard toed they were another deduction.

Well worth the money.

I wear red wings steel toe boots with aftermarket power step shoe insoles. The insoles are supposed to last 6 months but I get 4 months out of the insoles before I have to switch them due to my feet hurting. The red wings boots are are pricey but they are made in the USA and my feet do feel better standing on concrete all day. The boots last one year before the tread wears off from walking combined with stepping in chemicals/skydrol etc.

I looked at some red wings but they had what looked like a polyurethane soles. I don't think my shoe repair guy could build up that kind of sole. Are the ones you're wearing a solid rubber sole?

I am unsure what the bottom is. The redwing sales man said this particular model was for concrete floors. He also showed me the same shoe with a different bottom for working outside etc. When the shoes were new, the bottoms were translucent with a gray tint.

Is it a tool? I guess...

I walk around on concrete floors all day long. My feet hate me. I don't want "dad" shoes, the typical white nikes or new balance old people shoes. But I need comfort, any suggestions?

Most Redwings and most high end boots in general that use certain construction methods (Goodyear Welt etc.) can be easily resoled. That's a large part of the reason to go with that kind of boot. Not only that, you can resole with many different kinds of soles. Redwing offers some softer soles that are meant for standing all day, chemical resistant soles, high traction soles, etc.

I'm fond of the Vibram Christy soles on my moc toes and my Classic Chelsea. Much nicer for standing all day that the hard cork soles.

Then stay away from Red Wings. Most of it is made in China but they put the laces in here and call them American made. A lot of products use deceptive language. One way they do it is to say they are ASSEMBLED in the USA

You see the USA flag and think it is made here.
The only deceptive language is your post. Redwings has never been deceptive. They have the Worx brand with is imported.

on their website and on the shoes they have about 25 percent of the boots made in USA still, 18 percent made in the usa with imported materials, 1 percent assembled in the usa, and the rest imported and list country of origin.

I don't stand on my feet all day, but do a lot of hiking; long distance, up to 25 miles in a day, 4000+ feet of elevation gain is not uncommon. Regardless of the shoe you chose, insoles are a huge benefit- as at least one person said. I love Superfeet green inserts and have them in every shoe that they will fit.
Socks: Smartwool socks are the best. Or at least try wool by some brand. Once you go wool, you'll never go back to synthetic like Thorlo.
If you use inserts, pull them out of the shoe when you get home to let things dry.
A small heel (height) can also be good- this way your foot is at less than a 90* angle to your leg. This can help if you have tight muscle type issues in the back of your legs.

I love my Danner boots. I have the Mountain 600 which is a 4.5” hiking boot. I got them as an all weather/all season, light-weight work boot for South Georgia. These aren’t heavy duty work boots, just what I wear around the house and property. They are water “proof” with the Danner Dry liner. They stay considerably cooler than the Rocky S2Vs they replaced. And to the OP’s point, they are comfortable on all surfaces I’ve worn them on. I don’t have any pads on my concrete garage floors and have no issue with my feet hurting when I’m working out there all day. I highly recommend trying on whatever you wind up going with.

In the future I plan to invest in a custom set of boots from a company like Nick’s Boots or similar. $500+ is an awful lot for a pair of boots, but guys who wear them say they are the most comfortable things they’ve ever put on their feet… once they are broke in.
