All this talk about my ac being too big for my shop and only running 7-10 minute cycle, yet it easily knocks the humidity down to 45-50 percent. The house ac will only do 58 percent at most.

If your garage is oversized and works better than your house, your house system is WAY oversized. Or you have horrible air leakage into your house (or both).

That's probably it. Air leakage. I don't mind the air leakage if that's the case. I have to be able to breathe with my asthma and these newer homes are sealed together tighter than can be.

You'd be surprised how much water is put into the air during normal household activities.
Cooking, laundry, showering and simply breathing all contributes to the humidity in a home. Now think about the garage. Not saying that is not a sizing issue but....

Call your electric company ask if they offer a energy audit that includes a blower door test. That will tell u how tight the house is. House feel cooler and resists mold growth under 50% rh. Need to measure supply and return temps off the furnace 18" off acoil and at filter rack with a pocket style thermometer 18- 23° difference the larger the difference the more moisture is getting pulled out.
