Shop ceiling fan advice request

I've already read through a bunch of fan threads, but have some questions that I haven't seen answers to. My shop is 58 x 48 with 18' wall height & flat ceiling. I'd like HVLS fans, but thinking that I'll need to keep them relatively small in order to avoid light flickering effect. My lights will be LED panels that are 24" x 18" and will be layed out something like below. I realize that it may be most efficient to drop the fans down, but since I'll be mounting lights right up to the ceiling, I'm thinking the fans should be relatively small and/or up close to ceiling to avoid the light flicker. I'd really appreciate some expert opinions or anyone with experience doing something similar. Fan recommendations also welcome. Thanks!

If your lighting fixtures are indeed ceiling flush-mounted, it's going to be difficult to avoid blade/light flicker. Having the fans lower leaves no manner in which they won't be blocking some light from any angle.

I had posted earlier about a large HVLS fan that I installed recently and someone just posted that they used HF blowers mounted on the walls with good results. Check that out.

Flat ceilings are best served by ducted or ductless air handlers. Even with 10 ft fans, you'd need probably six of them.

Seems that I just need to change my mind on lights being mounted directly to the ceiling. I'll hang them below where fans will be.

I saw your post about the 10' fan from HD and very tempted to get some of those. I'm hoping that I can get good enough air flow using 4 of those. Based on some data from this site (https://centerforthebuiltenvironment.github.io/fan-tool/)that I found, I think that 4 should be enough. Thoughts?

Mine is an A-25 size with speed control mounted on the wall. It does a great job in my 36x40x14' shop. My HVAC runs less and the temps stay more consistent.

These would allow you to put your lights on the ceiling as wanted and have no flicker from fan blades. Granted, you'll have a little more noise(depending on the bladed fan setup), but I honestly don't even notice mine at this point, especially when I turn the music on.

Thanks for showing an option. I'll have to weigh pros/cons of something like this vs ceiling fans with lights hanging to avoid the flicker.

Bigger fans (generally) move more air, but slower.

Smaller fans (generally) move less air faster.

If you want to really feel the airflow, go with smaller fans.

Or you could put louvers on the side that gets the prevailing wind, and exhaust fans on the lee side if you want turn the air rather than mix it.
