Shop ceiling

I am sure this has been over a million times, but I searched and couldn't find the answer I am looking for.

I built a 64'x40'x14' pole building and am planning on putting metal on the inside ceiling.

My question is do I need to screw it on 2' centers or will 4' be O.K. I am planning on blowing R-30 to R-38 on it.

Also can the 2x4's be laid flat to screw to?

My rafters are on 8' centers.

I believe you will need 4ft centers to screw the metal panels, from what I have read.

The problem is going to be how to create the structure that currently doesn't exist.

I flipped mine on their sides and spaced them 24" apart. Also had 8' rafters
