After lots of help on here, I’m about ready to get the roof on my shop. Now I dread having to do what should be the fun part, choosing colors. I‘m not necessarily asking anyone to choose my color combination but was hoping for some general suggestions and some apps that would simulate my choices. This shop has become a monstrosity on our property and as much as I love having it, I prefer that it blends in with the forest we have between it and the house. I’m using asphalt class IV shingles and LP Smart Siding. If anyone is familiar with this siding I’m going with the two tone Elk Horn color (if I can afford it). This color blends in with the ponderosa pine tree bark perfectly and I’m going to do vertical board and batten to help even more blend in with the trees. My main question is shingle color and trim color. I’m thinking dark but not sure how dark. As a general rule, are shingle colors usually darker than siding or lighter? I plan on dark window frames, bronze or black. Probably same with the garage doors. I just know that I don’t want to look out my window and see any bright colors on it (whites, blues, reds are not happening). Any pointers, suggestions, general rules, or recommended apps to help visualize this would be greatly appreciated. Also, if your shop or house has something close to what I described, can I get a picture and materials you used. Thx

Some of the pole barn companies like Cleary have on line build tools that you can use to select colors. Their color palette is limited but it might be close enough to help you visualize some options.

I would choose matching colors of the house.

Unless it's a big "barn". . . farm style barn which are usually red or white, I would match the house.
