I’m currently in the works to building a 48x48x18 shop. I’m still not 100% sure on how my layout will be. Is anybody using a 3D drafting app that you would recommend. I’m wanting to draw it up in app and play around with different layouts before I commit to the build.

+1 on Sketchup.
Easy to learn but understanding of 'entities' is critical.
Sketchup also has a Warehouse of components (machines, toolboxes, cars whatever) you can download to 'furnish' your shop. Or upload ones you create.

Use blender. It is free like Sketchup, but way more powerful. Even though it may be an overkill for your task, it is very cool stuff to learn.
