Shop Interior Layout Software

Hello Everyone,

I am getting ready to redesign the layout of my hangar. The building size is approximately 55 x 60.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a software program that I could use to design and layout the interior space? I want to make the most of what I have and designing smart for the tools and equipment is top priority.

I used the free Grizzly tools one on their website.

Pretty handy for what it is.

+1 for sketchup. Free, and relatively easy to use once you play with it a bit

Visio is my favorite for this, although I had it anyway for flowcharting.

And check out "aircraft hangar lift" via Google for some floorspace saving ideas. Use the hangar height to your advantage.

With a hanger you are going to want a big open space in the center.
If you have a helicopter you will probably put a cradle with casters to push it into the hanger.

I would do the same with any big tools.
Put them on casters.

That way you can put them where you need them each time you need them.
