Shop interior walls

I am building a 24x24 "shop" inside my hangar. I love the look of wood and am looking for options to finish the interior walls. I am doing the ceiling in Tonge and Groove cedar. All input and ideas are welcome. Also into industrial look.

I am planning my 36 x 36 and have been thinking about this too. I am leaning toward 1/2" OSB covered with 1/2" sheetrock. That way I can finish the sheetrock and make it look good, but if I want to put a screw in it to hold something I have a backer.

I look forward to what others say so I can consider it too.

As soon as we get time we are going to re-do our workshop/showroom area of the garage and do it with the vintage industrial look. On the longest wall, the plan is to do brick veneer (thin brick) to give it the warehouse/industrial look. On the other walls we are probably looking at cedar or maybe even some old reclaimed barn planking if I can find it.

Since my cement floor is not level, we are also going to build a platform over the concrete and put down tounge and groove pine to give it that "old factory floor" look.

I did a google search on vintage workshops and other type of phrase I could think of, and then looked at the images link. You can get a ton of great ideas doing that.

I went with 1x6 t&g on the walls, corrugated steel ceiling, exposed lighting conduit. We like the way it turned out, and the wood walls are great for hanging stuff.

Although, coldh20 has a garage I would work in anyday

I'd figure out what will work well with what you plan on doing in there. Since you plan on T&G cedar for the ceiling, I'd make the walls look decent, maybe some corrugated tin for a wainscoting.

It's really not just a garage, it's my hangar and my home. The "shop" area has a glass garage door and a sliding glass door so it can be opened up and be part of the living area.
