This is the proposed lighting layout for my soon to be built farm shop. The building is 54x72x18 and will have bright white steel everywhere inside. The lights will be a UFO style light, or that's what I have in mind right now. I'm open to suggestions for that as well.
The reason for using a UFO style light is that I have 7 100w UFO style lights in my cattle shed and they are BRIGHT and seems to light that area up crazy well. I have two in a 54x72 area and they are quite bright in a very non reflective area so I'd imagine that 16 of them in a bright white lined shop should be plenty. I've been told by a few people that there is such a thing as too much light. Seems like that's not possible but what do I know ... and that's the reason for the questions being asked here
I've read through a bunch of the " The Best Light Fixture Ever!" thread and have gotten a bunch of ideas out of there. I used the design tool in post #9 to play around with a few things and using a similar fixture to what I was thinking and it suggested I use 35 100w fixtures. Seems like a lot as I was thinking 16 would be plenty in the main part of the shop.
Anyway. Suggestions are welcome .... positive and negative feedback is welcomed as well.
