I have just moved into my new shop and install my first lift. One thing I noticed is my lighting needs to be improve and above where my garage door opens, there are no lights. My lights are currently t12s fluorescent with normal spacing. Where I work we have just install new t6 high output lighting, what a difference!
I am wondering what would work to improve my lighting, fit above the space between the garage door and ceiling, and be somewhat inexpensive?
Any suggestions?

There is a lot more to light output than just he size of bulbs...reflectors, light color, etc...Are you sure they put in T6 lights, normally you see T8 or T5 (the number just represents the size in diameter...T12=12/8", T8=8/8", T5=5/8"). New light fixtures always look way brighter because they are clean and haven't deteriorated.

If you want to stick with fluorescent tubes, T8 is probably the most economical. If you have the head space go with large CFL's (300-600 watt equivalent).
