As I get older my eyes really like there to be alot of light what lights work well in freezing temps that will not break the bank installing them?

I like T8's in the brightest temp range I can find, shouldn't be any problems with temp swings. My relatives still use a combination of T12 and T8s in unheated garages and barns, and theyre not too far north of you between Tug Hill and the Adirondacks, just over the Oneida-Lewis county border.

Btw, am a big fan of Unadilla, used to love attending races there.

After another cold winter of failed shop lights I switched to the Costco LED shop lights and I should have done it earlier. Much brighter and unaffected by the cold.

T8 with electronic ballasts work fine in my unheated Pennsylvania shop really well. They come right on even when it's below zero out.

I'm certainly not in a "cold" climate but I'll also suggest the Costco Feit led shop lights. I added two to the attached garage and was surprised by the amount of light we gained. I'm in the process of replacing the old florescent (8) in the detached shop/garage.

I used T5s HO myself, but LEDs would have been another good choice.

I also have T8s HO (in my woodshop)and they are not nearly as bright.
