I am looking for an 8 ft floursent fixture for my garage, I have read that the fixture Lowes sells is not worth the price. Can anyone suggest a better place to buy.

I bought 25 4' 4 bulb flo. fixtures on CL for $5 each. The guy selling, got them from doing demo work on buildings. Mine are from McD's. I see them on the list pretty often. Might want to keep an eye there. Keith

I bought 25 4 ft twin tube T8's at Walmart $11.00 each. 3 year warranty. I guess I'm gonna find out how long they last. But at $11.00 I can just throw them away when they go bad. Made by lights of america.

I got my 8'ers from a guy doing a demo. I got 4 for $10 each. I don't think I would have 8'ers if i had to pay retail. I would go with the 100W CFL bulbs like it that other thread.

I used the ones that pattenp linked above.

They are decent quality and a good value for the money.
I used 17 of them in my 24x40 shop.

And it is spelled "fluorescent", in case you want to search on it.

I am not a fan of the 8' bulbs.
Just too hard to handle, store, get for a good price, etc.
