I looked there a bunch of threads looking for shop lights that will not be affected by temperature. I am in Texas an I noticed that my florescent bulbs don't work well when it gets cold. I have no ac or heat in the shop. Does any one have suggestions or if you know where there is an existing thread I would appreciate it.

Older mag ballasts are like that. New electronic (T8, T5 units) will work down to 0F. If it gets real cold they might start at a lower brightness but will come up to full pretty quick. The only real fix is to update your lighting fixtures.

That is what happens but they are slower depending on the temperature. I will look at that.

They are a little dim when it's colder when I first go out there in the winter (maybe 49-52°) Once they are on for a few minutes, they seem to be ok. I do get some radio interference from them though, which was easily solved.

How many of those can you put on a 20 Amp circuit? Is it like 14? 17?

That 4 lamp T8 should pull about 1 amp, so you could put up to 16 of them on a 20A circuit.

Thank you I was just guessing but I was close
Keep in mind... if they pull 1 amp and you put 16 up that is 16amps but when cold they could pull more on instant flip of switch and pop breaker. Mine 8' HO lights would do that! I have to switch one side on then the other so it would trip a breaker when it was real cold.
