Shop made 55mm wrench

I wanted to make one instead of buying one because usually the handles are too long and hard to fit in where I need to use this wrench. Using ANSI tolerances, the square drive fits perfect. Ill check fitment tomorrow on the cap and then probably powder coat it.

No its a brass fill cap. 3/8" thick AR should have enough carbon in it to be fine. The min width between around the hexagon is 0.335" and its closer to 385 than 375.

I love it. Wish I had access to a CNC! I'd say no heat treating should be necessary.

I've cut a few big stubby's for use in installing tight fit hydraulic systems. We just have mild steel though, so they're pretty much one time use throwaways. Great job on yours!

I powder coated it today and test fit it on the cap and it fit PERFECT. Also I did copy the flange drive design.

No they laser cut AR plate all day long. It gives a nice case hardened like edge. It does move around a lot if you put a lot of heat into the plate when you're cutting it.

What laser do you use?

Prima Platino 2040 with a 5kw resonator.
