Shop Mop

What're you guys using? I have a full sized string mop with roll around bucket, but I only like to use that for big jobs like doing the entire floor as it takes to much time to fill it, wash the mop out, spray the bucket etc. To spot mop oil spills, dog accidents I've been using one of the libman mops with the replaceable heads. Idk if they changed what they're made out of or what but I get 2 or 3 uses out of them now before the foam detatches itself. i did a search on here without much results.

Mop? I must be "low rent".
Whatever oil dry and a broom doesn't get or won't evaporate, I get with my clothes when I'm laying under something on the floor.

I vacuum the concrete in my shop with a normal household vacuum. I always feel kind of embarrassed about it. When I'm vacuuming I hope nobody shows up and sees me! I haven't graduated to a mop yet but I guess if I ever had an epoxy floor I'd probably sneak a mop out here and hide it!

I also will admit to vacuuming at least annually. But it drives my wife crazy the way I vacuum around ****.

Pick up the man-made bits, magnet for metal, soak up the oil. The rest gets swept/squeegeed right out the door.

Well in the past I have owned the shop vac garage vac which was not bad but to be honest now I shop vac up big saw dust messes, after that normal Broom but for all the dust I open up the doors and use my Milwaukee blower and out it goes.

I too use a blower and away it goes in less than one minute.

I have a string mop like you use. It takes time but usually worth it to do the whole floor.

You could also "spot" mop with it soak it in hot water and spray your cleaner on the floor and just mop that area.

I normally do shop vac. It just seems like it takes too long to broom sweep and I never get 'clean' enough. Carpet cleaner (to scrub the concrete) before I setup my lift. That seemed to get the old unsealed concrete dust up better than sweeping. It worked surprisingly well. Wanted to pressure wash but didn't want the mess/overspray all over tools and stuff. Air hose works really well to blow out cottonwood and leaves in the spring and fall. Use the blower for the small garage and pole barn.

I sometimes vacuum the driveway with a Kirby. It's a good way to keep the neighbors from talking to you when in the front yard.

I use this mop in place of oil dry, works great as oil dry is a pain in the *** and usually goes everywhere and it's one more thing to buy. I buy 5 gals of purple power for $24 bucks that I keep in a pump sprayer. I hose down the oil quick with the pp, fill my mini sink with enough water to rinse my mini mop and go to town. Way faster and better than oil dry(without the dust and oil dry remnants.. I don't have a fancy floor and it's no princess shop,but I make some pretty big messes and this makes quick work of cleaning it up.

I like this, but I'd destroy it in no time. I often am soaking up large oil/coolant puddles thatre a few square foot, I'm messy.

Mop in the garage? I sweep out the garage once a week. I sealed the concrete before moving in all my stuff so if anything is spilled on the floor I grab a rag/old t-shirt which I keep in a drum & clean it right up.

Pig mats and puppy pads take care of any liquids before they make it to the floor.
I occasionally sweep up dry stuff. The leaf blower takes care of anything else. Out the door and down the street.
