I listen to my local country music station. If I don't have a radio handy I listen to the sound of steel and money rolling in.

This is probably the only one way I really fit with my generation. I have all my music on my phone, and have it playing while I work. Although unlike my generation its a mix of 70s classic rock and blues rock/british blues

When I moved into my new garage a decade ago, something seemed to be missing. It took a while but I figured it out, and after a little research, bought a GE SuperRadio III. I don't know if they're still any good, but I can pull in stations from the next state and always find something good.

Hmm I see it's an RCA Super Radio 3 now, and recent reviews are not kind. Perhaps a C Crane is the way to go.

I have 2,000 records and an audiophile stereo. I listen to something different every day. My tastes are eclectic and I listen to virtually any genre depending on mood.

93.5 Duke FM, the ledgends of country most of the time. If in a more jamming mood, Hank 3, Turnpike Troubadors, or Corb Lund radio on Pandora. "Hard on Equipment" is the greatest shop song over.

I jam to XM all day long. The sound is incredible at 1.5 watts thanks to vintage SAE rack system and Cornwall speakers. The speakers are mounted 8' up and 38' apart. I plan on building an all aluminum wall mount rack for the components. Pink Floyd, Rush, Johnny Cash and Waylon.

If you guys are digitally equipped then give a dutch station called Arrow a listen. Their play list has been awesome since I found them 15/20 years ago... they were once on short wave (am) and if you were far enough east in the UK it could be picked up. People visiting will think you can speak a foreign language when the commercials are on too!!

I have dedicated laptop in my garage, and I feed the audio signal to my stereo. I've got thousands of MP3's on the laptop, but I find it is easiest to browse YouTube for about 10 seconds and select a 'playlist' of whatever genre I am in the mood for that day. Sometimes oldies, sometimes rock, sometimes classical. YouTube is terrific for music.

It sound crazy, I know. 1.5 watt during the work day and it almost drowns out many machines in the shop (pretty loud/efficient). But then clean up time...broom..beer.. and 12 watts! Crystal clear and it feels like 150 watts.

Who knows. The mods will move it if there is a problem.

My shop music varies. Metal one day, classical the next. Or maybe Jazz. A couple days ago I queued up my entire Devil Makes Three collection in the garage. It is probably my girlfriend & my favorite group lately. Have seen them live 5 times in the past year or so. Lucia can wail on that stand up bass. Sounds good on my big garage speakers.
