Shop Report: HF vs Felo 550

Maybe someone will appreciate this.

Green is the Harbor Freight #7386. They are supposed to be magnetic, never had the chance to test that. My coworker uses them as pry bars and punches. This is daily (mis)use for the last 2-3 months.

Red/Black is the Felo 550 series, used them perhaps a month longer. Use these as mini-prybars and punches, just like my coworker. My favorite use is pressing the tip between the edge of a wheel weight and the rim, and hammering the SOB loose.... Probably what I use it for most.

I don't use the green 'drivers, but the mechanic that does quite often finds my Felo's and uses them just the same.

Did you know they make a tool for removing the wheel weights?

They also make real prybars and punches. You should try them and save your screwdrivers for screws.

Good prybars & punches are worth their weight in gold.

I've used a screw driver for wheel weights before. There are times when wheel wights pliers won't get the job done. I used my pocket screw driver for removing stick-on weights daily when I worked at A Ford dealer. I used my heavy duty screw drivers to remove over tightened 7.3 oil filters a few times when band wrenches would crush the can.

we have a heavy duty scraper for removing stick on wieights but we also use it for the hammer on wieghts that won't budge with the proper tool. especially those real thin .25 oz wieghts from the factory.

Did you know they make a tool for removing the wheel weights?

Then it's where I find the hammer I use to hammer those suckers off.

If it's not, what are you using to get those small 0.25oz weights off?
