I have outgrown my shop and its not likely I will put an addition on this one. I have/am accumulating much more "shop" tools like a brake lathe, tire machine and balancer as well as all the other big **** thats not being used every day like engine stands, door holder jack, topside creeper, tubing benders etc, etc. All of which is nice to have but may only be used a few times a year so I do not need it in the main shop gobbling up space.
I have a 16 van body that is water tight. I would probably run power and air out there regardless so things could be used if need be, but my thought is to palletize everything and just grab what I need with the forklift and bring into the shop to use if its the middle of winter or whatever. My biggest concern is with summer humidity. I can put in some vents so its not a sauna in there, it really cant be worse than shops that work all summer with the doors wide open? I could oil up anything with bare steel when I am not using it as well. Mice would be a problem, they like chewing, nesting and ******* on things.
Any other thoughts?

I hear you big time...

I live with constant flooding in my man cave, mice out the ying yang, humidity, and heat, cold, and anything else you can think of. I use oil like it is going out of style on everything; (buy the stp mineral oil non-detergent kind for $5.99 per bottle and get yourself a paint brush and go to town.

So I have been saving up all the little silica gel packs from all sorts of things. I toss them in each of the drawers in my boxes.

They can absorb quite a bit of moisture. They don't need to be replaced either. You can heat them in the oven at 275 to 300 degrees on a foil lined sheet. Wait til they cool and reuse.

I also use a light oil from time to time. So far no issues.

I would also maybe add some humidity sensing fans in the top of the van body.

As long as those aren’t Woodworking machines and tools, all of the above sound fine.

Oil and WW don’t really go together well.

A fan in the trailer to keep the air moving will help reduce condensation building up and staying on things when the temperature swings.

For the bender I would individually bag up any dies and either use some VCI stuff, or oil the daylights out of them.
Good point on moving air.
I have a pretty vast selection of plastic bags available to me. Slather them in Fluid film of the like, bag and store back on the rack. I have had mixed results with VCI paper. Sometimes it works for me, sometimes not.

Oh no, I have zero interest in woodworking. Its kinda unfortunate as my father has a full on cabinet shop.
