What have you guys put together to store your shop vac attachments? I've tracked mine down and don't want them getting away from me again

I use the crevice tool attachment 99% of the time. I keep the other attachments in a cabinet, not stored on the vacuum. It also makes storing the hose easier. Wrap a couple of turns around the vacuum body, and slip the crevice tool under the handle.

I don't have alot so I just use the molded in holders on the shopvac chassis.

I do the same. I keep them attached to the shopvac so they are always right there when I need them.

I do have a few extra hoses that I use from time to time if I need to reach an area that is too far for the standard hose that is attached to the shopvac. I keep those hoses coiled up in a cabinet.

I've got a wall mount vacuum with a 50 ft hose. I had the vac mounted at the back of my garage, then ran the hose to the front and used a garden hose hanger with a storage compartment in the middle to hold the excess hose and the attachments. It worked out great for me.

A mesh bag works well for the smaller accessories. My hoses are coiled and hanging on the side of the extension ladder which is hanging on the garage wall.

I have mine in a thick corrugated box about the size of a shoebox. In my case, it was more about WHERE they were stored vs what they were stored in.

What brand/model vac do you have? I would love to get a wall mounted unit. So tired of dragging the canister vac mounted on cheap plastic casters around. Yours must have pretty good suction for you to use a 50’ hose.

I use the molded in's for most used tools; spares and less used ones, couplers, etc, smaller hoses/adapters for sanders, saws, etc, go in a really heavy duty file cabinet given to me by a buddy - the cyclone sits on an ancient sears vac bottom with a camper tape sealed piece of micarta for a top. the Ridgid vac is bolted thru. Base is some scraps, casters are from HD (usually found near the shelf units, have 3/8" threaded stems ... Steve

I know, not really compact but I check the vac/filter every few YEARS, and generally empty the sears "bucket" MAYBE once a year :bounce:

I like the mesh bag idea. Then just blow it all off before opening the bag as my attachments sit for weeks, perhaps months on end!

Getting a new little shop vac soon too so will incorporate this idea.

I have the older version of the Craftsman 5 gallon wall mounted portable. It has a little bin on the bottom for the attachments. My BBC is sitting on the engine stand right in front of it, so getting to the attachments is kind of a pain right now.

I drill a 1/8" hole in the end of the attachment, have a 2x4 screwed to the wall with small finish nails. Hang attachment on nail.

Hole is covered when attachment is connected.

+1 on the Vacumaid with the 50' hose. I taped one of those remote on/off switches right where the hose meets the steel receiver that the attachments go into so I can turn on/off with having to walk back to the vac each time.

I have a different system for each of my vacuums:

Big vacuum on wheels
I keep accessories in a fabric bag that hangs on the handle of the vacuum. The hoses are hung on the wall where the vac is stored.

Hand carry vacuum
I store the hose and accessories in a plastic case that originally held the Makita SDS drill.

Cordless wet/dry vac
Everything is stored onboard in the factory niches. I don't keep any extra hoses or accessories with it. I use this vacuum for quick simple jobs.

That's what I did with the small shop vac in my boiler room.

They have a wet pick up kit that goes with it for an additional $120.00 I have not purchased that yet but will soon.

Ooof. Getting a little too spendy for me. I think I'd just make a wet pickup out of a 5 gallon spackle bucket...
