I bought the Garage Pro as well. I'm happy with it, but a bit bigger hose and more suction would be great. Can you have too much?

The one thing I like is that it isn't a dust volcano when you use it like my previous Shop Vac!

It's a trade off, isn't it? A larger hose wouldn't be able to generate as much vacuum as the smaller hose. I debated this quite a bit before settling for the Bissel.

I have the hoover garage utility vac (GUV) for the past few years. It wall mounts and comes with 30 ft of hose.

I have been pretty happy with it and amazon has good prices for it. Amazing it sells for 60+ more at other retailers.

Good suction, but is not a wet vac.

I use an old bissel bagless house hold vacuum. Neighbor was tossing it out as it got caught in the drapes and messed up the brush mechanism. Removed the entire lower potion and left with the tall cylinder and hose. Works really well, great suction, and hepa filtration  Light, easy to store, easy to empty, long cord but best of all $0.00 purchase price.

I see nice vacuums in the trash all the time, good cheap solution for a shop vac. Be advised to try and pick a clean one though :shocking: Saw a dyson once, picked it up and just couldn't get past the smell. Not sure what they used it for, but dang. I couldn't put it in my car.

Damn you guys... I've been dragging around my cheapo little orange plastic home depot shop vac for years..but it is weak and noisy..so this thread was not good for my wallet.

Long story short, I purchased this-

I like the looks of that, looks like a central vac.

I bought the Bissell at an outlet place and I really am disappointed with it. The suction is poor, the hose is too small a diameter and the hose end is a cheap plastic. Since I can't turn it off at the hose end I put the hose down and if I ever step on it I'm certain it would crack in half.

I wanted a wall mount but now I'm thinking of going back to an old reliable: The Craftsman 16 gallon roll around. It would **** the chrome off a trailer hitch and its abuse resistant.

I looked long and hard at the Garage Pro - pricey. The Amazon Vacmaster looks interesting too.
