Hi Guys,

Going to be grinding my floor soon and I'm looking around for a shop vac to buy.

I'm going to moisten the concrete floor as I grind them so there's not so much dust around.

When I use my shop vac to **** up the wet concrete dust, should I be using it with the foam sleeve (for liquid application) or just regular filter (dry application)?

Btw, I'm going to get the Vacmaster VJ507. Anyone have it?

I wouldn't use a shop vac to clean up. Just hose it out and use a stiff bristle broom to scrub as you are hosing. A vac won't get it as clean as washing.

We don't recommend wet grinding, you would need a slurry vac to **** it up. Better to use a standard vac, and then power wash if you have residual dust.

Look at a "Dust Deputy" cyclone vacuum attachment. It cost $99 as a kit with container, fittings and hose that you connect to your shop vac. The reviews on amazon, one from a concrete contractor, state it does well on dry concrete dust. It does not work for wet items. The cyclone drops the dust into a 5 gallon or larger bucket while the air stream is directed out the shop vac filter.

It is often times used by wood workers to capture sawdust and wood chips.

I just got my dust deputy yesterday, HOLY ****!! It looks kinda cheap and gimmicky, but damn it works!! I had previously been cleaning the filter every 10-15 minutes, yesterday after 30 minutes, the filter still looked like I had just cleaned it
