Last year I moved into a new shop that has a wall fan but it did not have a motor attached and I'm trying to get some information on fan speed. The building was built somewhere around 1950 and the fan looks to have been installed when it was built.
I see some modern fans that spin around 600 RPM but those will obviously have much lighter blades than mine so I'm a bit leary of spinning that fast. Right now It's spinning at 285 rpm and it definitely seems like it could spin faster safely, but I'm not sure just how fast.
If anyone could share some knowledge on these antique fans that would be much appreciated.
It has 6 blades with a diameter of 55" and we're using a 2hp 1725 rpm motor at 220 volts if that helps.
