Shop walls

Hello everyone - I'm new here. We just had a shop/building built for the farm. 15x60 is an enclosed shop area with a concrete floor. We had it build by QSI.

I would appreciate input on how to finish the interior, walls & ceiling. One end is a garage door & it is insulated. We were planning on plywood but upon calling for prices today - we've opened the discussion to other surfaces - or just not finishing it at all.

The use will mainly be a farm shop. To house tools & work on equipment. I will also keep my woodworking tools there.

Prices today for 4x8x1/2 ... plywood $45 OSB $16 Sheetrock $8.64 I called the local lumber yard and a Menards about an hour away. The prices above are from the local yard. Menards was about $1/sheet less on everything and we'd rather keep the business local.

Wow, that's got to be a mistake on the plywood price.
I just did my shop with 1/2" plywood, good one side and it was $30.00 per sheet. You might want to check with them again.

I just bought 4x8 - 3/4" (give or take a 64th) at HD - "cabinet grade" (pine) for $34/sheet. That price you have there is pretty high.

OSB was $14.99 at HD yesterday here. I personally like OSB. I've banged a lot of stuff - tools, cars, etc - into the walls since I moved in and the OSB cares not. In the house, my 2 yr old grandson swiped a coffee cup sized toy car off the TV stand and put a dent in the sheetrock.

If it gets wet, for example on the floor near the base, OSB will not last as well as most plywood.

OSB then paint it.

have you considered smartside? blowes and home cheapo both carry it at about $25 a sheet it hides the seems and no painting needed, looks good and is strong. here's what it looks like in my garage

Figure out the number of sheets and shop around.
Both pick up and delivered.
You might find a guy who will custom order for you with delivery to your address.
(You may need a fork lift.)
It is just a paper work transaction for him and if you make it a cash deal it cuts his costs a lot.

Oh man, I like this. Looks great and comes in a nice tan color too - no painting! Plus, I do NOT want to be bothered with all the taping and mudding of sheetrock. Can you easily remove a panel if you wanted to run additional air/power/electronics lines behind?

I am doing mine with OSB now. Will probably paint it white for improved light reflection.

This is a 7/16 composite siding I purchased from Home Depot 2 weeks ago, $16.50 a sheet. It's primed from the factory. $2 more a sheet than OSB.
