Okay, I'm replaced my last Rough Service bulb and burned my arm for the last time, please give me some good shop work light recommendations.

I don't mind retractable corded, as I'm tired of weak rechargeable batteries too.

Any LED that actually put out good light? The ones I've played with I haven't been thrilled with, but maybe you have found something you like.

Thanks in advance.

Are you just looking for bulbs? I got rid of my rough service 100 watt bulbs and replaced
With menards feit led bulbs. 60 watt equivalent but they are brighter than the 100watt bulbs I took out. I replaced my outdoor lights also because I liked the led. They come on
Right away even in cold weather.

I also replaced mine with led bulb, but IMO, the best brand of led work/drop lights is Bayco. I have the cordless 34 led light stick and it is bright as hell, so I could only imagine what the 60 led puts out. Mind you, these can be picked up cheaper on eBay, Amazon and even Amazon Warehouse like I got mine. Take a look around their website, find one you like, then look on Amazon or eBay. They are worth every penny. http://www.baycoproducts.com/index.php/productsbayco/led-lights/item/sl-866

I got 4 of these. 6 might be even better but 4 works pretty darn well as is at 11200 lumens each.

I'll assume you're talking about portable flood lights / work lights.. The corded snap on floodlights that started out at $39 over a year or so ago in Costco, are down to $18 in the store's.. they are the best corded led floodlights you could buy at $40.. for $18 it's a steal.. I own 6 of them.. 2,000 lumen, they come with a small stand, and I've mounted 4 of mine onto those $15 56" tall craftsman tripod.. you WILL NOT find a better LED flood light + stand for less money. I'll pay your mortgage if you do..

If you want a cheap drop light, go buy a cheap plastic HF or HD drop light with screw in , incandescent bulb, and buy a 100 watt LED "stick bulb", or A19 bulb online or from lowes. If that's not enough get a 150 watt LED replacement..

Mounted on craftsman tripod - under $40 combined right now..

Costco also has led 4' fixtures like shown above, but you can always just goto HD and buy the 4' replacement led bulbs for those.. mount the on the ceilings, the walls, on a stand if you want.. depends what you want..

If you want cordless led work light, Milwaukee is your best bet. Runtime will vary with battery size, but a mid sized pack will get you hours of runtime on just about all their lights.

I bought a few Feit curly-fluorescent Rough-Service bulbs. Every one of them broke. Some of them still lit up after they got wobbly, some didn't. They'd take a while to get to full brightness in the winter, too. And yet I loved that they ran cool--when they were working. I also appreciate that the light source is compact--I didn't have to find room for a foot-long tube of fluorescent or LED. If they didn't break, I'd put up with the slow start.

Very disappointed in the Feit curlys. Chinese ****, of course.

May have to consider the LED lights. Overall, I really hate non-incandescant bulbs in terms of light color and flicker; but I don't miss the heat.

+1 for KC Typhoon's LED recommendations over the last 6 months!

GE Lighting 32309 LED Bright Stik 16-watt (100-Watt Replacement), 1520-Lumen Light Bulb with Medium Base, Daylight, 2-Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017WY4IJU/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Holy Cow....only $10 each

I also have many of the same lights KC Typhoon has touted from Costco...the Snap On from above, and the CAT rechargable he recommended from this fall...both great.

For permanent mount, I have been replacing florescent 48 inch fixtures in my garage, one for one, with the LED fixtures from Costco for about $25 each....amazing. Working on a way to have the garage door opener kick one of the 48 inchers on....will report back.

Great suggestion to use the Craftsman tripod--just ordered one.

The craftsman tripod will come with a quick mounting clamp, designed to be used with their craftsman floodlights. I took that apart and just driiled out the holes for screws.. there's a thread floating around in the hot deals forum about this stand and light combo I started a long time ago. If you search for it, you'll find someone's post, can't remember who it was, that figured out how to modify the craftsman quick clamp, to use the snap on light with its floor mount base still attached... this way he was able to use the tripod stand, unclick it, and use the SO light with its included floor stand.. he had a good idea..

Edit - this is the thread

^ Am I understanding that the Snap - On Led light posted above is only $18 in Costco right now? If so that is a awesome deal almost too good to believe.

Yes.. understand though, that's it's a Snap On "liscensed" product.. meaning, they don't actually make it. It's made in China by Alltrade tools, so it's not $500 retail product like SO would charge, but rather a product they can slap their name on in return for money from Alltrade for name recognition.

Regardless, they've (the lights) been around for awhile and have earned a big following on here as one of the best LED flood lights around, being sold at a very low cost..

Even if its made in China not by Snap - On its still just as good of a deal. They are very high quality I have one but now want to check my local Costco and buy a couple for gifts maybe.

The LED lights are so much better than hot delicate halogen. Good X mas present, and cheap. Checking tomorrow.

Costco has a bunch of LED stuff on sale.. I bought 4 packs of dimmable R20 bulbs for $6 I think... 10 pack of A19 dimmable 65 watt replacements for $5... they are like 66% off with the instant rebates
