I recently cleaned out the parents home and found the above type jigsaw. Does anyone know what type of wood and metal blades it uses? Thanks.

This post says a shopmate jigsaw takes a normal blade.

Not sure if it’s an 1813 or not.
The U shank is what I consider normal, not the Bosch style. Bosch is a much newer format than your Shopmate

Through all the garage sales this summer I picked up some shopmate tools. The jigsaw was my grandfathers but the other 2 I bought. I really like the style and build quality of these. I'm not sure of the ages but IMHO any old full metal casing tools should be in this section. Here is the jigsaw...
