Through all the garage sales this summer I picked up some shopmate tools. The jigsaw was my grandfathers but the other 2 I bought. I really like the style and build quality of these. I'm not sure of the ages but IMHO any old full metal casing tools should be in this section.

Here is the jigsaw

This is my go to jigsaw. Heavy as hell but a beast! Plus the sentimental value of it too. There's another one on craigslist for 10 bucks I might pick up.

This is the sander. I bought it for 1 dollar with the box.
It sparks a decent amount and I think it needs new brushes. The problem is I have no idea how to locate these. I also can't even get the thing apart. The base plate is pinned on weirdly and prying it off or pounding the pin through doesn't work.

This is the reciprocating saw. It takes normal blades but they can be inserted in a couple orientations as well as the handle. The foot plate can be angled so you can cut accurate 45s and lower with the blade in sideways. It's weak compares to a modern DeWalt or Milwaukee but versatile. You can set up a guide to the square rigid foot and plunge accurate cuts. It can be a good jigsaw too. You can't do that on a modern sawzall because most of the feet are wobbly, have rounded edges and are tilty.

Does anybody have any info on these or dating? I couldn't find any really online. If you have any cool old shopmate tools post em up!

How 'bout some trivia? Probably most of you don't remember S & H Green Stamps - you got them when you bought something, collected them, and traded them in for "stuff".

"Stuff" like a Shopmate sander, for instance.

S & H = Sperry & Hutchinson as seen in the previous post.

Might as well post up as I just took a few shots of this little jewel for the Craigs. Rumored to have a new home this weekend.
Months ago someone posted up a shopmate circular saw. It was the same as the saw mounted on this radial, but with a base.

Probably need a few more than 15. You got a book -
30 pages or so - maybe 50 stamps on a page - but to make things easier, the had "10s", "20s" and "50s" if IIRC.

Remembering all that stuff - had
to be 1970 ish if not before -
Dang I feel old!
