My 5 hp 60 gallon compressor shot craps Saturday. It's beyond repair and parts are not available. Looking for a good value for a hobbyist body shop. Ingersoll and Quincy come to mind but seems the box stores have some attractive deals as well. Opinions?

Get the I/R or Quincy for aircompressorsdirect.com or Northern Hydraulics. Boby shop work wears out cheap compressors.

How much air do you really need? A 60 gallon HF two stage 5hp might do the job. A used 80 gallon, 5 hp big box compressor also might be fine. These "5 hp" compressors will be in the 12-14 cfm range and probably limited to a true 50-70% duty cycle but the cost may be right. Otherwise look for a used Champion, Quincy etc.
