I'm looking for info on this vintage tool that i picked up. I'm thinking of cleaning it up and using it, but kind of wondering if it would be worth more to a collector. I think its form the early 50s.
I'm not sure how to post pictures yet.

I removed the worn out sanding disc and it started up just fine

I got one! I bought it just because I needed a table saw. the drill press and drum sander are just bonuses. I dont think Id ever use it as a lathe but you never know.

I bought mine sitting on a homemade rolling cabinet with 4 drawers for $100 so i figured it was a steal.

I have one too. Use it all the time for a lathe. Back when I had my own sign co. I used the scroll saw with a home made extesion to the throat to cut deep letters. Typically set up the table saw for secondary cuts on pieces. It makes a great drill press. Have had it for 21 years now, bought it from a gentleman who bought a newer model. It has been a great tool and have never regretting its purchase. It has made toys, kitchen cabinets, pens, signs and a mirade of other projects. One time had to go to the auto parts store for belts, I gave them to the clerk and he asked what they were for. Told him they were to a 1940 shopsmith and he said he could'nt find that inthe book.

It seems to be good and heavy duty. I got mine really cheep (sight unseen). All I needed was the table saw, but the table is too small foe most things I work on. So I thought I might try to sell it to a collector. the problem is I don't Know much about it.
Anyone know how to tell what the year is?
