Shortening a Web Belt

I got a new tool belt recently. Since my waist is a lot less than 60", I'd like to shorten the length of the web belt and in a way that will prevent the end from unraveling.

It looks like it was hemmed at the factory with an industrial duty sewing machine; but I don't have any way to get it hemmed after cutting.

Any suggestions on what I can do to the cut end to prevent unraveling?

Yeah, cut it, melt it, and if you want bend it back over itself an inch or so and throw some stitches in it.

Hot knife perhaps?

You could use a scrap butter knife, hold it in vise grips and heat the blade with a torch.

If you can't sew the folded over end, you could fold it over and use hammer in rivets or chicago screws.

All good suggestions. I've also covered the cut end in epoxy or a suitable glue for cotton webbing.
