I'm using the M12 Impact Drivers for light mechanic tasks. I already have 2 longer locking adapters from SK. What's the shortest one anyone has found, something closer in to the hex chuck, for maximum clearance?

So you're talking 1/4" hex male to 3/8" square male (or 1/4" square male)?

This Wiha one looks pretty small.

Potentially there are nutsetters out there that are even shorter than an adapter plus a socket.

The ones I have and have seen came within a set of 1/4 square drive sockets with a 1/4 hex driver.

I have one of these and it is the shortest I have seen. Usually used with a ratcheting screwdriver.

Ya I also have the Titan Stubbys. Shortest I could find that are still actually a true 1/4" locking hex shank.

The difference between them and my Milwaukee is about 1/4" in overall length on each of the 3 sizes

And people are always surprised when I say I bought a 3/8" impact AND a 3/8" to 1/4" hex locking adapter !

If you wanna get crazy take one thats too long to a machine shop and tell them what you need. They can face to length and cut a new retaining groove.

I've actually done this.
